I recently received a brand new iMac at the office to do my work on from now on. My bosses were sick and tired of all the problems the windows machines were causing and we are slowly replacing each machine with an iMac. At first I didn’t really like it too much, but once I started to get used to the new shortcut keys (I am a keyboard man) I have actually gotten quite fond of the OS. Evenmuch so that I am now using the wrong shortcuts at home!! :S
Anyways, the one thing I really miss at home now is Expose and Widgets. But, what turns out, Widgets are available for Windows as well!
It seems Toshiba just can’t get enough of making robots. Now they have developed a universal remote buddy, which is pretty much a robot. He picks up on IR signals from remote controls and learns them. By asking you what you were doing when you used the remote he adapts to all your IR devices. From what I understand you can tell him what to do (after he has learnt it) by talking to him and he’ll swing out one of his cute little arms, which has an IR transmitter built in, and aim it at whatever gadget you want to control.

Oh boy, what to say about this article. I don’t know whether to find this guy extremely sad or respect him for his choices and balls to come out in public and tell people about them.
I don’t know how intelligent this robot’s programming is, but there’s a few things I found remarkable:
1 - It dumped him
2 - It complains about too kinky sex
3 - It knows it’s a robot
4 - It helped him to stop watching porn and go to church
Sixrevisions.com has just released a nice article about 10 very nice AJAX tools you can use to make your site all Web2.0-ish. Some of these tools you might already know, like GreyBox (or LightBox or whatever other Box you’ve used, not counting XBOX!) Most of them are media/image related so don’t get your hopes up too much. The tools they list are quite impressive though, not a bad page to chuck into your Del.icio.us account as it will probably come in handy one day if you are a webdeveloper (and a lazy fuck) like me.
